Sandip has 20+ years’ experience in Drug discovery for design molecules for Anti-cancer, Anti-HIV activity with novelty search and synthesizes maximum number of NCE’s for biological activity. He has worked in drug discovery Companies such as Piramal Life Sciences, Takeda-Nycomed Pharma Pvt Ltd, Godavari Biorefineries Ltd contributing to several projects in varied therapeutic areas such as oncology, metabolic and inflammatory disorders, anti-viral, etc.   Dr. Sandip has workeSynthetic Chemistry at Godavari Biorefineries Ltd, since last six years, wherein the scale-up activities of the preclinical- and clinical candidates were successfully carried out in a multistep route involving carbohydrate chemistry.

The molecules have entered Phase I clinical trials. Dr. Sandip is well-versed with the structural characterization of the small-molecule agents and associated impurities.

Dr. Sandip worked for his post-doctoral studies in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, where he worked on flow chemistry. In flow chemistry synthesis of compounds using flow equipment’s like vapour tech, Syrris pump, Syrris reactor, HCube, Phoenix reactor, Chemix pump etc. In flow chemistry handled reactions like homogenous reaction, Heterogenous reaction, Jones oxidation, Reduction using Raney-Ni and Pd-C, Suzuki, Sonogashira, Grignard, Bromination, Nitration, Aldol condensation etc. He has capabilities of Custom synthesis, Process development, Technology transfer, synthesis and characterization of API impurities.
